STEALING A BOTTLE OF WINE

William Brown, boatman, was charged with stealing a bottle of British wine on the 18th November, the property of James Guest. Prosecutor said that he went into the Marquis of Granby Inn about 11 o'clock, with the bottle of wine in his pocket, and the prisoner took it out. Witness asked him to return it, but prisoner denied any knowledge of it. Witness then gave information to the police, and soon after prisoner was arrested.-- Lucy Wells, a servant at the Marquis of Granby, said that prosecutor entered the house very drunk, and left after using bad language. He returned and charged her with stealing the bottle of wine, and then accused Brown.-- Prisoner discharged.
