These are the counties as they existed before the major reorganisation of 1974. The numbers show how many people were born there. The colour coding helps to pick out the main areas - Derbyshire, the West Riding of Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire predominate, with Lancashire, Cumberland and Gloucestershire coming next.
I have relatives from all over the world, but only the British ones are shown here.
