At the Quarter Sessions, she was accused by George Gosling of Riot, and Obstructing a Constable in the execution of his duty. She was found Not Guilty.


This must have been a large-scale disturbance as 31 people were charged - 14 men and 17 women. Charity was the only person acquitted. The rest were all fined one shilling, except for Daniel Wragg who was fined six pence. Unfortunately for Daniel, he could not provide a surety to guarantee payment, so he was sent to prison for three months instead.
