A FEMALE FEUD

This was a summons for assault, in which Elizabeth Lowe, wife of Samuel Lowe, Froggatt's-yard, West-bars, charged James Lee and his mother, Mary Lee, her neighbours, with using threatening and violent language; and the latter defendant had a cross summons against Elizabeth Lowe, on similar grounds of complaint. In the course of the evidence, it transpired that the parties exhibited great depravity, judging from the obscene, repulsive, and horrible language made use of in court, alleged to have been used towards each other during their quarrels. Their worships very judiciously ordered both parties to enter into recognisances to keep the peace for three months. The required sureties were entered into.
